Catch of the Day (Gideon’s Cove, #1) by Kristan Higgins

I cried like a baby for quite a bit of this book. Or heard me and was afraid, as I resembled an escaped lunatic at that moment. Let me get this out of the way first. I didn’t count, but I don’t think he says more than 50 words in the entire book. The families who live there are close knit, caring and willing to gossip about everyone and everything.

Then, after a bit, they start having sex. I was a good ten miles from town when my bike wheel slid on some ice. I liked that Kristan Higgins allowed us to see that people are not always as they first appear.

This book added depth to characters that I thought were so blah before. There is just so much to recommend this book. And really, I was just tired of Maggie being so obsessed with her single life and sad love history.

I also got tired of the constant harping on her woeful single state. Her relationship with her twin was a refreshing change as they are close and the dialogue rang true.
