I work on my practice daily, I work on my skills, ideas but foremost in my mind is to refine my technique and throwing skills.
Working in porcelain, to create fine light wares is the ultimate goal. Adding the stoneware gives contrast and warmth and the illusion of strength but the porcelain clay body is the real winner here, its pure white surface perfect for decoration.
My forms are inspired by the ‘British ceramic tradition’ with modernist leanings and hints from Scandinavian and Japanese craft aesthetic.
My colour palette is all Australian, hints of our coastline and bush scenery.
My ideas are all ‘depictions of flowers’ in various ways, memories of childhood and family stories.
These pots are ‘Flowers’ upright, blooming out of the ground.
